Who built this building?
This residential palace was built between 1926 and 1927 by a businessman from Málaga named Antonio Navajas dedicated to the cultivation of sugar cane. The building after many years of abandonment was acquired and restored by the Torremolinos town hall to reopen to the public in 2014.
What is its architectural structure?
The palace was built in the neo-Mudejar style that flourished in the province of Malaga at the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the 20th century. The decoration of the building has a great inspiration in the Alhambra in Granada with touches of Mozarabic art.
The construction consists of two floors with two round towers at each end of the building. The ground floor for the family’s home while the upper floor serves as a viewpoint over the sea.
What is the building currently used for?
Currently, apart from visits by thousands of tourists a year, it also hosts a large number of public events such as concerts, exhibitions and theater. The building also has rooms for private events such as weddings and other ceremonies.
